We cultivate our community by helping the ones most in need in our city. Philoxenia was created in order to invest a major portion of our profits into NGOs in Athens that provide essential living needs and equal access to opportunity. In this way we strengthen the social fabric and foster solidarity and support among all residents and visitors. We envision creating a community where we all have a room with a bed, nutritious food, education, and access to the opportunity to benefit both ourselves and each other.

At Odyssea, we share Philoxenia's commitment and innovative approach, to creating a diverse and inclusive Athens. Philoxenia recognizes that supporting organizations like ours is not philanthropy but an essential element of their core mission. Partnering with Philoxenia allows us to leverage our expertise in securing just and equal social integration for vulnerable people, locals and newcomers alike, through education and employment. With visionary supporters like Philoxenia, Odyssea serves more than 3000 vulnerable people every year, connecting them with work opportunities and thus revitalizing the labor market at the same time. We hope that more businesses are inspired by Philoxenia's model of building sustainable synergies with the goal of creating the world we want to live in now."
Theodoris Kostoulas, Fundraising Coordinator
When Philoxenia approached us with this inspired partnership idea, it struck me at once as highly innovative and yet so simple and sensical that it begs the question why don't more such partnerships exist around the world? The notion of doing well by doing good is hardly new, yet still hasn't become mainstream. I applaud Philoxenia for becoming the first conscious property management company in Greece (and perhaps the world) and am so grateful that they choose Lighthouse Relief as their first nonprofit partner. To a grassroots NGO like ours, having a steady income stream, even a modest one, means the difference between paying staff fairly, planning for the future, and scaling up our impact versus living from grant to mouth, so to speak, and in constant fear that we might have to close down on short notice. Philoxenia presents a new, better form of corporate social responsibility and I truly hope the model becomes widely replicated around the world.
